The Origin and History of PsychoVoyager
Prior to the internet (or should I say, my intro to the net), my music was primarily distributed to a handful of friends on cassette and later CD-R. Initially the songs I wrote were intended for Electrick Jam, a band I shared with Asa James, but the tunes grew to be too numerous to be contained by this one outfit which had a second songwriter (Mr. James), in addition to myself. PsychoVoyager was created. The name had stuck in my mind for a while (there was an anime called Technovoyager based on the old UK sci-fi marionette-animation series Thunderbirds), and I wasn't sure how it was going to be used. It could've been a comic book, but I rarely follow through on those projects. Anyway, I didn't really use the name for myself untill 1997 with One Day... Sanctuary. I'd done a couple of compilations before that, but wasn't inspired to put any thought into the packaging until a friend (Chris K.) handed me one of his tapes - Nothingala: The Cosmic Sigh Of The Lost Prophets (1996), which had a nice little hand-painted cover, and a title (that was thought out). I was like; Hey! That's what I wanna do.
